The theme aims to raise awareness among youth to overcome stigma and discrimination associated with mental health.
The celebration in Thimphu began with prayers, followed by skit related to youth and mental health.
Many students gathered at the event said that it is an opportunity for the government and others stake holders to bring their attention to key issues concerning the youth in the country.
According to the Psychiatrist at the JDWNRH, Dr. Damber K Nirola, like in other parts of the world, youth and mental health is also a growing concern in Bhutan.
The Department of Youth and Sports under the Ministry of Education organised the event with support from the UNICEF.
In Gelegphu, to mark the day, some hundred school dropouts and volunteers gathered at the youth centre.
Speaking at the occasion, the health officials said family and communities contribute to the confusion that a child goes through during their growing stage, making it difficult for them to cope up.
If not addressed, it will lead to mental problem at a later stage.
The youth are most vulnerable when they are in their transition period or puberty.
