The film Thank You Sir bagged 12 awards of the total 29 awards at the 12th National Film Festival. Twenty movies went to the festival this year held yesterday.
Tshering Gyeltshen, who played the lead role, in the film, Thank You Sir, won the award for the best actor. He also took the awards for the best script writer and the best director.
Tshering Zangmo, the lead female actor in the film won the award for the best newcomer female.
The awards for the best supporting actors were taken by Namgay Lham and Karma Sonam for their roles in Thank you Sir.
Tsheten Wangchuk’s furious performance in the movie bagged him the award for the best actor in Negative role.
An educational and social movie Thank You Sir also won the award for best film on youth and education. The film also has been applauded for having the best background score, best music composer and best female singer.
Meanwhile, Tshokey Tshomo Karchung took the award for best female actor and also and best actor in comic role from the film, Jarim Sarim Yeshey Tshogyel. The movie also won the award for best film of the year.
Jamyang Jamtsho Wangchuk has won the award for the best newcomer male for his performance in the film Gyelsey.
Poenlop Agay Haap took home four awards. Kinley Dorji, the lead actor was awarded the best art director. The movie won awards for being the best spoken Dzongkha and culture based film. And Tandin Tshering won the best child artist for his role in Poenlop Agay Haap.
Green Media bagged the award in best animation category for the movie The Mermaid and the best visual effect award went to Star Creation for the film, Tshelo Chup.
Lhaki Dolma won the best lyricist award from the movie; Lue Dang Sem. Pema Rinzin won the award for best visual editor and the best sound designer from the same movie.
Dechen Tshomo won the best make-up artist award for her work in Sel Wai Karselma.
Rinchen Namgay won the best singer male award, and Karma Jerry the best choreographer award. Chencho Dorji won the best cameraman award.
