The three day long Agriculture Exhibition in Samtse attracted thousands of locals and visitors since its opening on Wednesday. New technology, concepts and products were on display for farmers, focusing on scientific advancements and innovations needed for agriculture.

It was a treat for agriculture enthusiasts and especially for the farmers, who visited dozens of stalls during the Samtse Tshechu. The exhibition showcased green technology, innovative concepts, products, fruits and vegetables, and information kiosk relating to agriculture and horticulture.

The Chief Dzongkhag Agriculture Officer, H P Adhikari said during Tshechu because of large gathering of people, the exhibition would serve its purpose.

The exhibition was organised to make both farmers and backyard gardeners familiar with advanced green and clean technology. It also features giving of tips by the participating agriculture officials on how to practice sustainable agri-based practices back at home.

“We want our farmers, who have visited our exhibition in last few days, to replicate the technology and innovative ideas that we have been sharing with them once they go back home,” said the Assistant Dzongkhag Agriculture Officer, Kinzang Chophel.

The agriculture department encouraged farmers and general public who visited the exhibition to adopt smart agriculture technologies as they are cheaper and doable with lasting impact on livelihoods.
