Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Sangay Choden Wangchuck inaugurated an Art Exhibition titled “Faces” at the Royal Textile Academy, yesterday. Other members of the Royal Family also graced the exhibition.
It was a solo exhibition by Zimbiri, who graduated from Wheaton College in the US. The art illustrated the masks people wear. Zimbiri says wrathful Mahayana masks have abandoned their beauty and tranquility to protect indicating love. This aspect, she said, fascinated her. She says the art collection represented her effort to understand various faces.
Thirty four artworks are displayed at the exhibition which will be opened to the public till Saturday.
