The nine traditional cereals of Bhutan, known as dru na gu, had almost vanished from Bhutanese table. Generally, these nine grains are used for spiritual and religious ceremonies in households in Bhutan.
The founder of Chuniding Food, Kesang Choeden, revived the consumption of dru na gu by introducing meals prepared from these traditional grains in her restaurant.
Chimi Dema is another food entrepreneur, who owns a small food factory and prepares cookies from dru na gu.
