People going out from Phuentshogling were escorted till Thimphu for a week-long quarantine. But beginning today, the escort services will remain suspended until further notice, following the cluster outbreak of COVID-19 in Thimphu.
According to the National COVID-19 Task Force, the Regional and the Dzongkhag Task Force should facilitate the inbound vehicles and people to Thimphu for emergency travel and those carrying essential food items, perishable good, LPG and POL among others.
DeSuup escorts have been monitoring the journey of the people going out of Phuentshogling. Many are those who leave for annual rituals, some to meet family members and a few for official purposes. The DeSuups drop them at respective facility quarantine centres and immediately return.
During the journey, DeSuups make sure people from high-risk do not come in contact with those from low-risk areas. Vehicles are allowed to stop twice for a short duration where there are no settlements.
