The construction of a new bridge has began at Dzongkhalum, 11 kilometres away from Trongsa towards Zhemgang.
Heavy monsoon last year damaged the old bridge. The Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority (MHPA) is spending over Nu 30m to construct the new steel composite bridge in the same area.
The construction is expected to complete by mid of next month. The 34.5 metres long bridge will benefit both commuters and the MHPA in transporting its construction materials.
