The Druk Phuensum Tshogpa’s Dewathang-Gomdar Constituency candidate Ugyen Dorji has filed a complaint with the Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag Election Dispute Settlement Body (DEDSB) against three individuals for spreading rumours about DPT.

The DEDSB is yet to conduct a hearing of the case.

The party alleges that the three individuals, in a WeChat group chat, urged people not to vote for DPT because the Indian government would be unhappy if DPT comes to power.

They also allegedly said the Bhutanese living in the border areas would be affected in case of any strains in the relationship between the two countries.

The DPT has submitted voice recordings of the individuals as evidence to the election dispute settlement body.

All three individuals are based in Samdrup Jongkhar.
