The Dorji Lopen of the Central Monastic Body conferred Tashi Lekdhar to the newly appointed Drel-chung (in the line of the row in Zhung Budrel) and Lampoen (the chief of customs and traditions during the movement of Solthab) of the Zhung Dratshang at the Punakha Dzong today.
48-year-old Tshechu from Punakha is appointed as the Drel-chung of Zhung Dratshang. He joined the monastic body at the age of seven. He has completed all the monastic education and undergone the three years retreat also. He also received teachings from various Buddhist masters including His Holiness the Je Khenpo. Prior to his current appointment, he served as the Lampoen of Zhung Dratshang.
47-year-old Gyembo from Wangdue Phodrang is the new Lampoen of the Zhung Dratshang. He joined the monkhood at the age of 13. Lampoen Gyembo completed the monastic education and had undergone the three years retreat under the guidance of Dorji Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang. He also received teachings from many Buddhist masters including His Holiness the Je Khenpo. Prior to his current appointment, Lampoen Gyembo served as the mig-nyipa meaning fourth in the line of the row in Zhung Budrel.
