The Dorji Lopen of the Central Monastic Body has appointed drubpoen, principal and lam. The Dorji Lopen conferred dhar to the new appointees at the Trashichhoedzong today.
49-year-old Tenzin Lhendrup from Trongsa is the drubpoen of Thadra Goenpa in Thimphu. He started his monastic education at the age of nine and graduated from the Tango Buddhist University. He underwent his three-year retreat at Chari Monastery. In acknowledgement of his services to the Chari Meditation Centre, he was also conferred Toetsi Jim today.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Tshering from Paro is the new principal of Lha Dzong Tashigang Goenpa at Hongtsho in Thimphu. He was enrolled as a monk at the age of nine and graduated from the Tango Buddhist University. He completed his three-year retreat at Chizhi Goenpa. Prior to the present post, he served as a teacher at Dodeydra Shedra.
And, 45-year-old Dhendup from Punakha has been appointed as the new Lam of Nyizergang monastery in Punakha. He joined the monk body at the age of eight and graduated from the Tango Buddhist University. He also completed his three-year retreat at Lha Dzong Tashigang Goenpa at Hongtsho in Thimphu. Later, he served at the Tango Buddhist University and as a Khenpo of Shaba High School in Paro. Before his present appointment, he practised meditation at Lha Dzong Tashigang Goenpa in Hongtsho.
