The Monggar District Court had recently received an order from the High Court to execute the Supreme Court’s Judgment for the 13 plot committee members involved in the Gyalpoizhing Land case.
The order was in pursuance of His Majesty’s command through Gyalpoi Zimpoen. It states that 13 committee members, who had appealed to His Majesty the King, uphold the Supreme Court’s Judgment.
The allotment committee members had earlier appealed to His Majesty the King expressing dissatisfaction regarding the verdict passed by the Supreme Court.
The Committee members had been charged by the Anti-Corruption Commission for illegal plot allotment in Gyalpoizhing. The court earlier convicted the committee members from one to three years of prison terms under official misconduct.
The Monggar Court is yet to summon the committee members for the execution of the verdict.
Meanwhile, the Bhutan National Bank recently submitted a complaint letter to the Monggar District Court expressing concern over loan availed by the 13 individuals keeping the controversial plots in Gyalpoizhing and buildings as collateral.
The letter says about four buildings and a few plots which cost over Nu.47 million have been kept as collateral.
