Sonam Tshering, the first person to go behind bars after the Tobacco Control Act came into effect, says there is a different set of law for different people. He was speaking on BBS Programme, Nang Ghi Tam.
Sonam Tshering said for the same crime, some have been bailed out while some still remains imprisoned. He was apprehended in January 2011 for carrying Nu.98 worth of chewing tobacco.

Sonam Tshering spent one year 19 days in prison. He was released in February 2012 after a Royal Kidu was granted to all those who had been arrested under the Tobacco Control Act.
