Works for development of Dhamdum Industrial Park in Samtse are in full swing. The construction of basic infrastructure such as roads, water supply, boundary walls and estate management office are expected to complete by August, this year.
Works to develop the Industrial Park began last year under the supervision of Department of Industry of the Economic Affairs ministry.
There will be about 77 clean-tech industries built on the 341.91 acres of land in Dhamdum. Clean-tech industries include the business sectors which are environment friendly in their services and products.
The project engineer said, with the current budget of Nu 300 million and with some additional amount, they will be able to develop only 43 plots out of 77. All the works in developing these plots are expected to complete within the 11th Five Year Plan. For the remaining plots, works will start in the next plan.
In the meantime, construction of living quarters, security check-post and installation of street lights will start once the ongoing works are complete. The project engineer said they will require over Nu 2 B to develop the whole industrial park.
The Department of Industry officials said, many business enthusiasts have already started visiting the site often, eagerly waiting for the works to be over.
