The 16th National Zorig Day was observed in the country, today. It was observed to honour skilled workers and to promote a culture of dignity and respect for them.
In the capital, the labour minister, Ngeema Sangay Tshempo joined the trainees of zorig institute to mark the event.
The minister also awarded certificates and cash prizes to the winners of the recently held, skills competition in Thimphu.
In Phuentshogling, His Eminence Dungse Garab Rinpoche presided over the prayer ceremony to mark the day. The Truckers Committee of Bhutan arranged the event.
The National Zorig Day was observed in the country since 2001.
