In keeping with the upcoming 115th National Day celebrations, the national broadcaster, BBS organised the National Quiz Competition on Science and Technology today. Sixteen students from eight different colleges across the country participated in the competition.
The race to winning the quiz competition was between the teams representing the College of Science and Technology (CST), and Samtse College of Education.
While the competition was neck-to-neck, Karma Wangda Phuntsho from the College of Science and Technology answered most of the questions correctly. The college then secured 115 points defeating its opponent, Samtse College of Education, who scored 90 points.
“We are proud to have represented our college and won this competition. Co-curricular activities such as this Quiz should be held. It only raises our IQ quotient,” said Karma Wangda Phuntsho.
Given that the quiz revolved around science and technology topics, students were ecstatic to have participated in the competition.
“It was on science and technology, so I learned a lot and gained a new experience. I hope such an event encourages our youth to participate in the quiz, build confidence and gain analytical skills,” added another participant from the College of Science and Technology, Serzina Gurung.
Along with certificates, participants of the winner as well as runners-up teams received cash prizes along with their Daily Travel Awollance.
The quiz competition was sponsored by BBS in collaboration with Bhutan Telecom Ltd and private firms like Kushu Enterprise and Institute for Professional Management. The competition was supported by the National Day Coordination Committee.
