The College of Natural Resources (CNR) in Lobesa in Punakha, has launched the Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Development Programme (SDP) on Saturday.
The three-year BSc Sustainable programme is a broad based multi-disciplinary programme that is designed to develop a cadre of professionals with knowledge and competencies in a range of social and applied science.
The programme prepares graduates for a wide variety of job opportunities available in the field of development. It also prepares students for a career as researchers, development specialist, project and programme managers, planners and local government leaders.
About 36 students were enrolled in the programme.
The College of Natural Resources today offers seven different programmes. The number of students has increased to over 330 this year from 160 when it first started.
