Thimphu police have apprehended seven boys for beating up three police constables near the Thai Pavilion last night.
Four of the boys were arrested immediately after the incident. Two other boys were arrested later last night. One, believed to be the leader of F4D, one of the disbanded gangs, was apprehended this morning.
According to police, the boys all belong to F4D. Around 29 boys were involved in the incident.
Two of the policemen were injured in the incident. One suffered multiple cuts on his head. The other, bruises on his body and hands. The third escaped unhurt.
The injured policemen were referred to the hospital for medical care. Their condition is described as stable.
In their police statement, the boys said they had gone to fight another group of boys and that they were instructed by their leader to beat up the police too if they intervened.
The seven suspects have reportedly confessed to the crime.
Police said the remaining suspects have all been identified but are yet to be arrested.
