In a joint inspection carried out in the core town of Thimphu, Bhutan Narcotics Control Authority (BNCA) seized various brands of liquors amounting to more than Nu 30,000, yesterday.
The restaurant was caught selling liquors without a bar licence. The team also seized tobacco products worth Nu 10,000 and imposed a fine of about Nu 30,000 for violating tobacco laws.
The inspection is first of its kind and it will be carried out in future.
The Royal Bhutan Police, Department of Revenue and Customs, Department of Trade, Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority and the Thromde carried out the inspection.
