The Ministry of Health is all set to start Bhutan’s National Health Survey 2012.
According to the Director General of the Department of Medical Services, Dr. Ugen Dophu, the National Health Survey is an important tool for generating reliable and up-to-date benchmark data on wide range of priority national health indicators.
The National Health Survey, according to the Director General, is to see how much Bhutan has achieved in the area of health in last 10-12 years. “It is also to set a baseline for the 11th Five Year, so that new targets can be set.”
Dr. Ugen Dophu also said the survey is also to find out about the new diseases Bhutanese people are living with and how the health ministry can intervene at the early stage of the disease.
