Despite strikes in the Indian state of Assam, about 100 Bhutanese vehicles were allowed to move toward Phuentshogling, Gelegphu, Nganglam and Jomotshangkha from Samdrup Jongkhar, today.
The vehicles were allowed to ply with the help of Indian police at around 1 PM.
However, public transports were not allowed to travel.
Samdrup Jongkhar’s border gate has been closed since yesterday following strikes in Assam.
With another 24-hours strike called by Boro Suraksha Samitee from tomorrow, the Samdrup Jongkhar’s border gate is slated to remain closed until Friday 5 AM.
