The newly appointed Bhutanese ambassador to Kuwait, Dasho Tashi Phuntsog, presented the letter of Credentials to His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait on Tuesday. Dasho Tashi Phuntsog has assumed the office of the Embassy on March 18, this year. He assured His Highness the Amir of Kuwait that he would leave no stone unturned in his commitment to take the close ties, which exist between the two governments to a newer height.
Bilateral relations between Bhutan and Kuwait began with the opening of a Consulate in May 1982 with the appointment of Retired Major Pem Tshering as the Consul General.
Later the mission was upgraded to the status of an Embassy in April 1986. Dasho Tashi Phungtsog is the Ninth Ambassador of Bhutan to the State of Kuwait.
