Bhutan observed the United Nation Day by lighting 1,000 butter lamps in Tashichhodzong in Thimphu, today.
UN Day marks the anniversary of an official establishment of United Nation in 1945 after drawing up the UN Charter.
The day also marks the beginning of an era of sustainability, committing to fulfil the promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The UN is also in transition, from its eighth Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to Secretary-General-designate Antonio Guterres.
