After a disastrous fire razed the Wangduephodrang dzong, the Dzongkhag officials have no place to work. A meeting this morning decided that the Dzongkhag administration office will be at Bajo Higher Secondary School as a temporary measure.

The Wangdue Dzongda, Lhendup Wangchuk, said once the construction of Chhoekhang at Bajo is complete, the administrative office will be shifted in the new building.

Many administrative officers were at loss after the incident. Not a single administrative document could be salvaged.

“We have lost everything. We don’t have any document left. We are really worried but since we all have the full support from the government I am sure that we will get back the information that we have lost,” said the Dzongkhag Education Officer, Tshewang Penjor. However, he said getting all the information will take time.

Meanwhile, the Dzongda said the Dzongkhag administration will remain closed for two-three days.
