#Updates: A chartered flight with 127 Bhutanese onboard en route to Kuwait and Dubai returned from Bagdogra airport in India, today. The flight couldn’t proceed to the destination because the host nations demanded health clearance of the respective nations at the last moment according to the Foreign Ministry.
The passengers were all carrying a PCR negative test result from the Health Ministry since the health clearance was not specified as a requirement according to the Foreign Minister until this morning.
For this reason, the ministry discourages people from travelling at this time of the pandemic as there are last-minute requirements and changes.
The minister also said, the Kuwait Embassy in Bhutan and the Foreign Affairs Ministry are working on this and the passengers are all asked to report to the airport tomorrow morning.
Most of the passengers are returning to their jobs in the Middle-East.
