A 34-year-old Bhutanese man in Brisbane, Australia reportedly drowned in the Queensland floodwater. According to sources in Brisbane, he drowned while trying to escape a flooded area.
The man completed his studies in Brisbane and has been there for the last three years. As per sources, the incident occurred yesterday morning. Parts of New South Wales and Queensland experienced a record-breaking flood with residents across multiple towns missing, displaced or trapped, according to Australian media.
Sources say his body is still with the Police.
There is little over 1,000 Bhutanese living in Brisbane. According to the Foreign Minister, the Bhutanese Embassy is in touch with the family members.
