The race for the BoB Bhutan Premier League 2025 title is heating up as the tournament approaches its mid-stage. Defending champions Paro FC have once again proven their dominance, winning all of their seven matches so far. Their unbeaten streak sets them apart, but they are being closely chased by Thimphu City and Transport United, both just three points behind but separated by goal difference.
With consistent performance and strong coordination on the field, Paro FC has proven unstoppable this season. The defending champions secured another victory in the seventh round, defeating arch rivals Transport United 2–0 at Woochu Sports Arena last Sunday.
So far, they have scored 21 goals and conceded only 4 giving them the best goal difference in the league at 17. Their solid defensive structure, combined with sharp attacking play, has helped them maintain a perfect record.
Following closely behind are Thimphu City and Transport United, both locked at 18 points from eight matches.
In the 7th round, Thimphu City earned a 3–0 victory over Southern City at Changlimithang last Friday. Transport United also overcame Southern City with a 2–0 win last Monday.
Continuing their winning form, Thimphu City FC defeated BFF Academy 3–1 in the 8th round yesterday at Changlimithang Stadium.
With this, both Thimphu City and Transport United now have six wins and two losses each. Thimphu City leads on goal difference.
Meanwhile, RTC FC is quickly rising in the standings. The team beat BFF Academy 4–0 in their seventh match earlier this month and followed it up with an emphatic 8–1 win over Ugyen Academy this evening. RTC now sits in fourth place with 16 points from eight matches. If they maintain this form, they could soon emerge as serious contenders for the top three positions.
At fifth place is BFF Academy, with 12 points from nine games. They are followed by Ugyen Academy and Southern City, both struggling to find consistency, and both carrying negative goal differences.
At the bottom end of the table, Tsirang FC, Samtse FC, and Tensung FC are battling to avoid the relegation zone. Tensung FC sits at the bottom with just 4 points, while Samtse and Tsirang have 5 and 6 points, respectively. With heavy losses and poor defensive records, these teams face a tough road ahead.
All teams except Paro FC have completed eight matches each, while BFF Academy, Ugyen Academy, and Southern City have already wrapped up their first round with nine games played.
With the second half of the season still ahead, the league remains wide open. While Paro FC continues their quest to defend the title in style, other top contenders are sharpening their strategies to close the gap.
