The Office of Attorney General (OAG) forwarded another two government land encroachment cases involving former Chang Gup Naku to the Thimphu District Court yesterday.
With this, the OAG has now forwarded to the court four government land encroachment cases involving the former Gup.
One of the cases forwarded yesterday concerns an alleged encroachment on a government land measuring 96 decimals in Chang Gewog in Thimphu by the former Gup. He also faces the charge of deceptive practice.
The other case involves four individuals apart from the former Gup. They are accused of encroaching on a 50-decimal government land in the same gewog. They, too, are charged with deceptive practice.
The alleged government land encroachment cases are reported to have taken place in 2000 and 2001 while Naku was serving as the Gup of Chang Gewog.
The OAG appealed for the restitution of the government land and sought punishment for the accused as per the land act of 1979 and other relevant acts.
