A mountain bike race called the Jakar One Lap Race was organized in Bumthang to mark the World Environment Day this morning.
The 12-kilometre race saw 13 participants including 2 women taking part in it.
Kinley Tshering, a hotelier in Chamkhar town came first. Jigme Dorji bagged the second position while Tshering Dhendup came third. The winners were awarded cash prizes.
Bumthang Sports Association organised the race to promote cycling in the district and also advocate cycling as one of the means to prevent Non-Communicable Diseases in society.
