Prime Minister visits Samtse

PM-Samtse- The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, who was in Samtse, inaugurated two farm roads and visited irrigation channel projects over the weekend. Agriculture minister, Yeshey Dorji and information and communications minister, DN Dhungyel are accompanying Lyonchhen.

Lyonchhen inaugurated a 5-kilometre Tsajinsa farm road of Pemaling Gewog on Saturday. The road, estimated to have cost about Nu 2 M was built through the Gewog Development Grant which will benefit over 190 households.

Lyonchhen, along with the Ministers and Members of Parliament, also met with the beneficiaries.

The Prime Minister also made an unscheduled stop to ride a Spider Machine, which has been provided by the Government. The machine helps level topography of fields.

In the afternoon, the entourage made a visit to coffee plantation site in Tashichhoeling Gewog. This was followed by a site visit to Jitti Lift Irrigation construction.

In Sang-Ngag-Chhoeling Gewog, the Prime Minister inaugurated a 4-kilometre Khangzangling Farm Road that was built with GDG. The Lyonchhen also met with the 70 household beneficiaries of the farm road.PM-Samtse--

Following the farm road inauguration, the Prime Minister also made a visit to Kuchi Diana Irrigation Channel construction site under Yoeseltse Gewog.

On Sunday, The Prime Minister and his entourage visited Samtse Shivalaya Mandir construction site, a project of His Majesty the King dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and also a gift to the Hindu Community from His Majesty the King.

It was followed with a brief visit to Jersey Breeding Centre before heading to Tading Gewog for formal ground breaking ceremony of Sherubling-Buka Farm road.
