DNT declares six candidates

The Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa revealed six candidates in Trashigang yesterday. The candidates will represent the party from constituencies in Pema Gatshel, Samdrup Jongkhar, Trashigang, and Monggar.

32-year-old Chenga Tshewang will represent the party from the Khar Yurung constituency in Pema Gatshel. He worked as a tour guide for over eight years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst in Sikkim, India.

 

 

 

Sonam Dhendup is the party’s candidate from the Nanong-Shumar constituency in Pema Gatshel. The 40-year-old worked in a private law firm with his colleagues for more than eight years. He has a Master of Law from the University of Asia Pacific in Bangladesh.

 

 

 

36-year-old Dorji Tshering will represent the party from the Jomotshangkha-Martshala constituency in Samdrup Jongkhar. Before joining the party, he worked in a company in Canberra, Australia for seven years. He has a Master of Public Policy from the Australian National University.

 

 

 

Tenzin Namgyel is the party’s candidate from the Kanglung-Shamkhar-Udzorong constituency in Trashigang. The 43-year-old also served as a general manager of the Dungsam Cement Corporation Limited. He has a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the West Bengal University of India.

 

 

 

53-year-old Jigme Dorji is the party’s candidate from the Drametse-Ngatsang constituency in Monggar. He was a consultant before joining the party. He has a Master of Educational Management from Mahidol University in Thailand.

 

 

 

And, Jigme Wangdi will represent the party from the Wamrong constituency in Trashigang. The 34-year-old worked as a teacher before joining the Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa in 2018. He has a Bachelor of Education from Samtse College of Education.

 

 

 

The Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa is one of the five registered political parties in the country.
