Dr Pema Namgyel, the Director, Program Management, SEARO

The WHO regional office says Bhutan is headed in the right direction in addressing the mental health issue under the patronage of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen. The WHO office commits to assisting the country’s efforts in addressing this. The regional committee of the South-East Asian Region adopted Bhutan’s proposal to protect and promote mental health as Paro Declaration earlier this week.

“We will focus on addressing mental health in line with the Paro Declaration. Bhutan is fortunate to be led by Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen in addressing this issue in the country. The WHO will support the initiative through Funds and Expertise,” Dr Pema Namgyel, the Director, Program Management, SEARO.
