The Sertog installation ceremony of the Utse or the main tower of the Pema Gatshel’s new Dzong was held today. With the installation of the Sertog, the Utse is now complete. The consecration of the new Dzong will be held on the 22nd of this month.

Construction of the Dzong began in 2012 in Denchi. The construction was initially expected to be completed in 2018. However, the construction could not continue due to changes made to the drawing of the Utse.

The deadline was then postponed to June 2020 which was further delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dzong is constructed with a budget of Nu 610 M funded by the Indian government.

Thinley Dorji, Pema Gatshel
