Eight locally produced essential products reprioritised for import substitution by 2021

The Department of Cottage and Small Industry under the Ministry of Economic Affairs has reprioritised eight locally produced essential products for import substitution by the year 2021.

The products to be substituted by locally made products are processed butter and cheese, noodles, sanitary pads, toilet paper, soap and detergents, cookies and snacks and tea products.

The Department, under the Cottage and Small Industry Flagship Programme, will provide end-to-end support by helping local manufacturers with the marketing and promotions of these products.
