A businesswoman in her late 30s is in Paro Police custody for smuggling 5.093 kilograms of gold. The suspect was apprehended yesterday afternoon by the Regional Revenue and Customs Officials at Paro airport.She was found in possession of five gold biscuits each weighing a kilogram. She was caught while returning from Bangkok. According to Custom Officials, they do a risk profiling of frequent travellers and narrow down the suspect.
The seized gold is currently with custom officials.
