Revision of wage top up and incentives, Build Bhutan Project

The Build Bhutan Project (BBP) is on the course of building a pool of skilled workforce that would make the country less reliant on the foreign workers. During a virtual press conference earlier today, the project announced the revision of wages and attractive incentives from next month for those working under the project and people who will join the project to work in the construction sector.

Bhutan improves her progress in combating corruption

Bhutan's progress in combating corruption has improved in 2020 compared to 2019. The country is ranked 24th least corrupt country out of 180 countries and territories. Bhutan was ranked 25th in 2019. This is as per Transparency International, a German non-governmental organization working to combat global corruption.

Court sentences 10 people to a maximum of three months for breaching lockdown protocols, Wangdue

The Wangdue Phodrang District Court passed the judgment on five cases involving 11 individuals in connection with violation of lockdown protocols as of Wednesday. The Court still has three more cases related to the lockdown violation. 

People of Chamkhar unhappy with the quality of blacktopping works

Residents of Chamkhar in Bumthang are not happy with the quality of blacktopping works in the town. It was done recently in one of the town’s internal roads. A local contractor in Chamkhar carried out the blacktopping works about one and a half months ago.
