Bhutan fails to qualify for the finals of SAFF U-18 Championship 2019

The Bhutanese Under-18 boy’s football team failed to qualify for the final of the SAFF Under-18 Championship 2019 after losing to Bangladesh 4-nil yesterday. Six South Asian nations took part in the third edition of the Championship 2019 the South Asian Football Federation hosted in Nepal.

World Rabies Day observed with pets vaccination

Nationwide rabies vaccination for pet animals was held today coinciding with the World Rabies Day. In Samtse District, over 700 pet dogs and cats were vaccinated and given deworming medicines to raise awareness about rabies disease.

978 motor vehicle accidents recorded in the country this year

On average, Thimphu records two to three motor vehicle accidents every day. As per the report maintained with the Thimphu Traffic Division, of the 978 vehicle accidents reported in the country since January this year, more than 300 occurred within Thimphu.

2 dies in a helicopter crash

A captain from the Royal Bhutan Army and a Lietiunent Colonel from the Indian Army Aviation died in a helicopter crash today at around 11:19 pm near the Youngphula domestic airport, Trashigang.

The burden of stray cattle, Bumthang

People of Chhumig Gewog in Bumthang and especially the farmers of Gyaltsa village are not happy with Bumthang Municipality’s initiative of seizing stray cattle and horses from Chamkhar town and releasing them in forests nearby their village.
