His Holiness the Je Khenpo presided over a thruesel ceremony at Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Power Project Authority‘s ( MHPA) dam site today.

The health ministry recorded about 5000 mental and behavioural disorders last year. This is an increase of almost 800 compared to about 4200 hundred in 2017. A mental disorder is a behavioural or mental pattern that causes significant distress or impairment of personal functioning. Mental disorders are usually defined by a combination of how a person behaves, feels, perceives or thinks.

Thimphu Police arrested the owners of Bhutan Employment Overseas (BEO), Jurmey Tshewang and Tenzin Rigden yesterday for alleged forgery of documents in connection to the "Learn and Earn" programme in Japan.

The Mines and Minerals Act of Bhutan will be tabled for amendment in the next session of the parliament as an urgent bill. To introduce as an urgent bill, the government held a consultative meeting with the private mining sector members to come up with relevant recommendations today.

The Private Sector Development Committee under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MoEA) has been officially handed over to the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry(BCCI). This is expected to bridge the gap between the private sectors and the government in addressing problems related to the private sector.

Jab-Chor—a platform for young Bhutanese entrepreneurs to nurture and grow their business ideas through access to financing was first launched on 14th December 2018, in Thimphu. The success led to the launch of Jab-Chor 2 during the second Bhutan Economic Forum for Innovative Transformation (BEFIT) held this month.

The weeklong Bumthang Moenlam Chhenmo at Jambay Lhakhang, presided by His Holiness the Je Khenpo, concluded today.

His Holiness the Je Khenpo conferred a recognition letter (Zengtoed) to Dasho Sangay Dorji, the former Secretary of Dzongkha Development Commission (DDC) at the concluding day of Bumthang Moenlam Chenmo, today.

“During the election campaign, the political parties did not mention anything about budget constraints or environmental issues. They pledged as if they had enough budget to start the work. Some even said that they could revise the National Environment Commission Act.
