Lunana patient airlifted to Thimphu

(Update): A 30-year-old man, who was hit by a stray arrow on Tuesday in Lunana was airlifted to Thimphu, this morning.

Father of abandoned newborn baby arrested

(Update):A 29-year-old man from Tsirang was apprehended, after the 17-year-old girl allegedly abandoned her newborn baby in Lhuentse earlier this week.

Ground-breaking ceremony of the 16km Daad-Wama farm road in Silambi Gewog in Monggar was held yesterday. The road is expected to become one of the main roads connecting the central region of Zhemgang and Sarpang. Government of India is funding about Nu.48mn for the project, under the Small Development Project. The road will be completed by next year.

Two passengers were killed in an accident in Wangdue Phorang last evening, leaving another four injured, when a Tucson they were travelling in fell off the road in Tencholing. One child is reported to be in critical condition, and has been referred to Thimphu hospital. There were six passengers travelling in the car, three children and three adults. The accident took place at around 9 PM, yesterday.

Gelegphu Thromde writes to MoWHS to reduce buffer zone

The Gelegphu Thromde has written to the works and human settlement ministry to reduce the buffer zone from 500 metres to between 50-80 metres as per the people’s request.

OAG reviews Lhakhang Karpo construction case

The Office of Attorney General (OAG) will decide if those involved in the alleged corruption case of the Lhakhang Karpo construction in Haa would be prosecuted. The case was forwarded by the Anti-Corruption Commission to the OAG, last week.

Court to assess DPT’s lawsuit against Dasho Benji

The Thimphu District Court says it first needs to assess if the libel lawsuit, Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) had filed against Dasho Benji, is criminal or civil case. The preliminary hearing was conducted, today.
