Trashigang Dzongkhag is struggling to meet the required student enrolment every year. Rongthung Primary School in Trashigang did not have a single student enrolment this year.

Fire in Punakha brought under control

(Update:) The fire at Manikha in Punakha was brought under control yesterday at 10 p.m.  The fire that broke out on Friday night was first contained on Saturday morning. But by afternoon it had rekindled. Over 50 acres of Chirpine forest cover was lost to the fire.

Man detained in connection with murder

A 27-year-old man from Langdurbi village under Bardo Gewog in Zhemgang has been apprehended by the police on Saturday night in connection with a murder. The suspect’s cousin was brutally stabbed in his stomach on Saturday. He succumbed to the injuries on the way to Gelephu hospital.
