Following the cluster outbreak of the COVID-19 at the Centenary Farmer’s Market area in Thimphu recently, the Health Ministry started a mass screening of the residents, beginning today.
More than 40 teams from the Royal Centre for Disease Control are spread across 45 zones, accompanied by DeSuups. The team will collect some 8,400 samples from randomly selected households across the zones.
Each active and mobile member of the households is being tested in their respective locality. However, the ministry urges those experiencing flu-like symptoms such as cough, fever, and sore throat to directly visit flu clinics.
Meanwhile, Thimphu alone recorded 48 cases of coronavirus since Sunday.
