A 56-year-old man, in connection with the murder of a 42-year-old woman, was arrested from Pasakha. He was arrested while the police were carrying out intensive inspection along the border town.
He has confessed to the crime. In a statement to the police, he said he had hit the woman when she refused to give him Nu.10,000 which he claimed was his money. The incident took place in Mewang under Thimphu. He said he had pushed the victim and she had hit head on a sharp limestone which caused bleeding.
The suspect had fled the scene after taking the money from the victim’s house. He had fled to Phuentsholing.
The suspect is in detention in Thimphu for further investigation.
