Landowners will not have to travel to the Gup’s office or the Land Commission Secretariat in the capital to obtain information on their land. They can now get hold of the information at the click of a keyboard.
The venerable Tsula Lopen of the central monastic body and the home and cultural affairs minister today launched a comprehensive online land info system.
Known as e-sakor, the official website will provide information such as land registration, map, location, and land type.
The information will also be useful for prospective buyers.
“People will also be able to see if their plot is being illegally transacted. Prospective buyers can also access information on the ownership, mortgage information and the area,” said Dasho Sangay Khandu, the Secretary of the Land Commission.
The system will help the government provide check and balance and prevent land related malpractices.
Users can log onto www.sakor.gov.bt to access information.
