The two domestic airlines are all set to carry out their maiden flights on December 17 coinciding with the National Day celebrations.
The two airlines, Drukair and Tashi Air, have successfully conducted test flights to Bathpalathang and Yonphula domestic airports.
Drukair’s ATR 42-500 landed at Yonphula domestic airport, 33 minutes after it took off from the Paro airport.
According to the captain, the test flight was smooth sailing all the way long.
The double engine aircraft also conducted test flights to Bathpalathang airport yesterday.
Drukair tentatively plans to launch commercial flight on December 27.
A one way trip to Bumthang will cost US$ 170 and to Yongphula US$ 215.
Tashi Air’s 8-seater aircraft has also conducted test flights successfully to the two domestic airports.
Tashi Air will be launching commercial flight on December 21.
A one way ticket to Bumthang will cost US$ 250 and to Yongphula US$ 350.
