Nine temporary sheds were razed to the ground by a fire last night in Wangduephodrang. The sheds was used by the employees of the sawmill at Bajothang-gu. They lost all their belongings in the fire.
The fire spread after one of the employees created smoke in one of the huts by burning paper egg tray to keep mosquitoes out, and left the hut unattended.
Fire fighters from Wangdue and Punatshangchu put out the fire after one hour. Meanwhile, our reporter Kinzang Thinley said the families are taken care of by the owner of the sawmill.
