Police in Zhemgang have recovered the body of a 30-year-old man from Barangang River in Panbang yesterday morning.
Civil servants and locals helped the police in the recovery operation.
Police said the man drowned in the river while fishing with four other friends on Sunday evening.
Local authorities said despite repeated announcements not to visit rivers and streams at this time of the year, people seldom listen.
However, they once again reminded the public: “It’s peak summer and the volume of river has increased. Please keep your eyes on children and don’t let them play near rivers.”
