ABTO, HRAB sign MoU to strengthen cooperation

The Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators (ABTO) and Hotel and Restaurant Association of Bhutan (HRAB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation and guide relations between their members.

The MoU was signed in Thimphu yesterday.

With the signing, the two associations will share, enhance and compliment each other’s strength, expertise and resources.

“The associations will come together to look into issues related to hotels and restaurant like payments, credits, booking and cancellations,” Sonam Dorji, the Executive Director of ABTO, said.

“The MoU between the two key tourism stakeholders underlines the importance of developing institutional, trade and business relations in order to establish a sustainable mechanism of dialogue and platform for discussion,” Sangeeta Rana, the Executive Director of  HRAB, said.

At present, there are over 600 operational tour operators under ABTO and 120 members including star rated and budget hotels under HRAB.
