His Majesty back from 11-day visit to remote places

His Majesty the King and Gyaltsuen arrived in the capital yesterday after 11-day visit to different parts of Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag. During the tour, His Majesty the King and Gyaltsuen visited numerous villages and met with people in their homes. His Majesty also trekked from Jomotshangkha to Samdrupcholing and surveyed the area for potential future development and growth.

His Majesty and the Gyaltsuen visited community lhakhangs, schools and villages. Everywhere, people gathered in hundreds and thousands to offer Tashi Lekdhar to the Royal Couple. His Majesty interacted with students and teachers, sharing experiences, granting advice and giving guidance.

The religious communities of villages along the route offered Kuu-Suu-Thuk-Gi Mendrel and prayers for the Royal Couple. In many lhakhangs and temples, His Majesty offered special statues and religious articles and participated in prayers for the well-being of the people and Nation.

His Majesty visited army and police installations in the area and spoke to the officers and soldiers on national security and issues related to their specific duties. Meanwhile, the Gyaltsuen met the families of the soldiers, inquiring their general welfare, and studying measures to improve the performance of their school going children, promote enterprise and enhance economic independence of the mothers.

His Majesty also initiated the construction of a memorial for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the military operations of 2003. Wherever the entourage travelled, on foot or by car, it stopped frequently as people gathered to offer Tshokchang and Tashi Lekdhar. His Majesty also granted Audiences to hundreds of individuals and families on the road, as they approached His Majesty to submit appeals and seek Kidu.

After celebrating the 32nd Birth Anniversary in Gelephu, Sarpang, His and the Gyaltsuen arrived in the Capital yesterday. His Majesty visited the site of the Gelephu airport. The Minister and officials of the Ministry of Information and Communications submitted a report on the status of the work.
