Bhutanese living in Australia participate in National Multicultural festival

More than 100 Bhutanese from Australia-Bhutan Association of Canberra participated in the National Multicultural festival at Canberra in Australia.

The celebration took centre stage in Australia’s national capital with representatives from more than 150 countries taking part in various programmes such as music, dancing, and food.

Nearly 400,000 people attended the festival.The festival is an annual event.

The Australia-Bhutan Association of Canberra put up stallsto showcase Bhutanese cuisine and traditional dance items. The stall attracted more than 20,000 people in three days.

One of the advisors of the Association,Tsheten Dorji said the festival was aimed at promoting Bhutanese culture and tradition in the Australian Capital Territory and to foster friendship between Bhutan and Australia.

The Australia-Bhutan Association comprises of students and their families. The three-day festival ended on Sunday.
