Man accused in rape case of Bhutanese girl in Jaigaon arrested

An Indian man, who allegedly raped a 22-year-old girl from Samtse on April 25, was arrested on May 5 by Jaigaon (West Bengal) Police.

The suspect was arrested near the supermarket area in Jaigoan.

After the alleged rape, the suspect fled to Bodh Gaya as a cook with Bhutanese pilgrims, said Jaigaon Police in a statement.

The suspect has forcefully entered the victim’s house by breaking the door and raped her, states the victim’s complaint letter to the police.

She lives in Jaigaon with her elder sister.

Meanwhile, the alleged rapist has been taken to Alipuduar Court in West Bengal yesterday.
