A class X student of Samtse was stabbed in the area popularly known as Hongkong market in Thimphu yesterday. The incident took place at around 6:45 pm.
The victim suffered deep cut on the right rib cage. He was admitted in the hospital. According to the doctors he is in stable condition.
It happened when the victim and a group of his friends, after a get-together and under the influence of alcohol, attacked another group of young boys for no reason.
The victim was stabbed by his own friend accidentally while he was holding one of the boys to be stabbed.
Both the culprit and the victim’s friend have been detained by the police.
Police said the victim will also be detained. This is the fourth stabbing case this year in Thimphu alone.
